Who/When/Where/Cost 2024- 2025 Fall Season Registration Opening Soon! (see below)

  • Grades: 8th through 12th - No Experience Needed!

    • 8th graders are welcome to do a 2-week trial period with our novice team. At the end of the two weeks, the coaches and athlete will decide together if the Novice team or the Middle School program will be the best fit. 

  • Fall Season 2024: August 14th - December 14th

    • Varsity Team Members: Practice will begin August 13th
  • Location: 150 Bayview Lane, Osprey, FL

  • Tuition: TBD. Fall tuition is due by August 12th, 2024 and covers registration fee, coaching, programming, equipment, and facility use.

  • Practice Schedule: 

    • Novice Team (New 8th & 9th graders): Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4 pm - 7 pm and Saturday 7 am - 10:30 am. 

    • Varsity (returning rowers): Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 4 pm - 7 pm, and Saturday 7 am - 10:30 am. 

 *Athlete physicals must be turned in before the first day of practice

  • Fall Race Fees: Fall race fees will be announced and will be due at the beginning of September. Fall race fees in total should be less than $500 (not including Boston). The race fee will cover entry fees, athlete transportation, boat transport, and housing when needed for the following races:

    • Benderson Chase, Sarasota, FL - October 12th - 13th 

    • Head of the Charles Regatta, Boston, MA - October 18-19th (only selected crews will participate)
    • Halloween Regatta, Tampa, FL - October 26th

    • Plant High Winter Sprints, Tampa, FL - December 7th

    • Sarasota Crew Intrasquad Regatta, Sarasota, FL - TBD

*Race fees do not include the Head of the Charles in Boston, MA. Those selected will pay separately once the boats are selected.

  • Spring Season 2025: exact dates TBD, early January through mid-May

  • Location: 150 Bayview Lane, Osprey, FL for January-March. April & May practices take place at Nathan Benderson Park. 

  • Tuition: TBD. Spring tuition covers registration fee, coaching, programming, equipment, and facility use.

  • Spring 2025 practice Schedule: TBD 

  • Spring Race Fees: Spring race fees TBD and will cover all races except for AYC 2 and Sculling States. The race fee will cover entry fees, transportation, boat transport, and housing when needed. *Spring 2025 race dates and locations are tentative and subject to change.

    • *Schedule Note: Rowers are expected to be at NBP on Friday at noon for Sculling & Sweep State Championships and Southeast Regionals

    • End of the Year Banquet, May 2025 All program participants and their families are invited!

    • Race fees have been able to be lowered because we budgeted for all races. We are unable to decrease the amount if a rower chooses not to make a race. We do not allow families to pick and choose which races they want to pay for as we plan for the entire team attending to keep the prices down.

Southeast Regionals marks the end of the regular season. Boats and athletes that qualify for Youth Nationals will be invited to participate in an extended post season that concludes with racing at Youth Nationals. The post season will be charged separately.

Bus: We can only provide a bus from Pine View this fall due to the expense. We can help figure out carpools so please reach out to us if you need help. To sign up for the bus you simply register under the Join Us -Youth Rowing -Transportation tab.  

*****To assure that you are receiving communications from Sarasota Crew as a parent you need to register under the parent section of the website.  Please click here  and register for high school, middle school or elementary school, as appropriate. You will have to log out as your rower to be able to sign up for the emails. Often we send notifications to only subsets of parents so if you have athletes in more than one age level, please register in both areas to assure that you receive the appropriate emails.
